Andrew John Dymoke, a loving and beloved husband, father, brother and cherished friend passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday April 22, 2009. He is survived by Susie Dymoke, his loving wife of 26 years, loving son, Ned Dymoke, sisters Jill & Susan, and many, many loved ones, including his neighbors, friends, and colleagues. He was a dedicated family man, kind and loving. The entire community enjoyed Andy’s warm smile and his open, friendly manner.

Andy was born in Barnet, in the United Kingdom. He spent a good number of his adult years working and experiencing life as a young Londoner before finding his wonderful wife Susie Wilson, and after starting their family and with an opportunity to work and live in the US the decision was made to move in 1994. In recent months, he proudly became an American citizen and could often be heard saying “I’m proud to be an American.”

Andy was an avid San Jose and San Francisco Giants baseball fan, but his favorite Chelsea football team was never too far from his heart. He enjoyed bicycling through the Almaden Valley, the place he called home for the past 13 years - as well as cycling in the surrounding areas, including conquering Mount Umunhum on his trusted bike. When he wasn’t bicycling he could be seen gardening - and if you happened to pass, Andy always had kind words to share, and a beer with your name on. Andy loved the beautiful outdoors; the ocean, beaches, and nearby forests being among his favorite places to visit. He enjoyed a good game of golf with his friends and neighbors on the courses in the Bay Area.

Andy enjoyed the experience of travel also, having visited many places, including Germany, Portugal, Scotland, Jamaica, Hawaii and Japan just to name a few. His life’s travels reflected that Andy valued experiences and memories far more than material possessions. He experienced a lot in his travels, but still best loved a friendly Barbeque for friends and family in his beloved yard; often firing up his pizza oven to cook for anyone who was lucky enough to meet him.

If you were lucky enough to cross paths with Andy your life will be forever changed by his generous and sharing spirit; his booming laughter and his genuine kindness. He will be missed dearly.

 
A memorial service celebrating Andy’s amazing life is planned for Thursday, April 30th, at 2 o’clock at the San Jose Giants Municipal Stadium located at 588 East Alma Ave, San Jose, CA, 95112.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Big Brothers & Big Sisters of the Bay Area in Andy’s memory.
